Sen. Brown: Climate bill can make U.S. stronger

In an editorial in today’s issue of the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call, entitled "Clean Energy Can Bolster Industry," Sen. Sherrod Brown makes the case that reducing the carbon pollution that causes global warming can bolster Ohio manufacturing and create new jobs in a clean energy economy.
"Done right, climate change legislation will improve our nation’s competitiveness by creating new jobs and developing new technologies. We must confront the twin challenges of our economy and environment with a robust and thoughtful response. And we must recognize that climate change legislation is an opportunity to rebuild our nation’s manufacturing base."

Energy efficiency measures help consumers, economy

The Newark Advocate reported today on Rep. Space’s visit to Owens Corning in which he touted the economic benefits of two key energy provisions included in the recovery package.
Space, D-Dover, said although the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act had been controversial, he is pleased to see energy conservation issues being addressed while benefiting the local economy.

"It's nice to come back and see first-hand how that vote is transferring into job creation," Space said.
